El-Araby Group has signed a contract to sponsor Egyptian fencer Alaaeddin Abul-Kassem, who earned a silver medal in the London 2012 Summer Olympics. Abul-Kassem is one of the best 100 fencers in the world and he succeeded in putting Egypt on the world map of fencing which was reserved for a number of countries such as France, Russia and Germany. Abul-Kassem started fencing at the age of eight and he participated in many Under-13 local competitions, he represented Egypt in 2006 and won the third place. Abul-Kassem had then participated in international contests in 2008 and 2010 in which he snatched the first place for the Under-20 category. Based on these achievements, Abul-Kassem hopes he would win the gold medal in the 2016 summer Olympics which will be held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Abul-Kassem said that El-Araby group's sponsorship was a positive step that would help him enhances his skills over the coming period in a move that would help him accomplish more achievements and clinch the gold medal in the forthcoming Olympics in Brazil. Abul-Kassem expressed his respect for El-Araby Group as a leading Egyptian company that works on supporting the Egyptian citizen in the sports and cultural fields. Medhat El-Araby, board member at El-Araby Group, said that the sponsorship came in light of the group's social responsibility towards Egypt through fostering athletes who could glorify the Egypt's name. El-Araby added that the company's role does not only entail providing people with the latest technologies, but also supporting aspiring athletes who represent the country in international contests.
